City of Seattle
About
The City of Seattle, known for its employee-friendly ordinances, is committed to improving access to flexible scheduling. As part of this effort, the City has a formal Alternative Work Schedule Policy that allows regularly appointed employees to request a job share arrangement.
Employees interested in job sharing can submit a job share proposal to their supervisor. The proposal should make the case that the position’s work can be effectively carried out and accounted for in a job sharer. If the appointing authority approves the job share, a written agreement will be developed that lays out the terms and conditions of the job share which will be signed by each participating employee and authorized by the appointing authority.
